NewsBank Redesign
A brief look into my role with NewsBank and Readex.
Flagship Product redesign
NewsBank initiated a major company-wide redesign to modernize both their "Current and Historical news" product suites. My role required several things for me to conquer.
Perform a full UI audit on their flagship products in an effort to establish consistent design patterns, design language, and more importantly, with intuitive user experiences across a very diverse set of features and functionality.
Oversaw product planning and launches: Headed UI design for the News and Readex divisions, leading to the successful launch of 11 new consumer-facing products and 4 additional historic 'News' Readex products.
I built, managed, and maintained NewsBank's Enterprise Design System "Wildcat" from the ground up.
To help the design team transition to this “design system” approach I held weekly team meetings to teach my peers how to use the custom components and ask questions.
Successfully introduced the use of a true "tokenized" variable system.
Why a redesign?
I was just the second full time designer hired at NewsBank and and most of their products needed a bit of a facelift. A perfect environment for a design system. 🧐

Historical News Division
NewsBank, inc. has been a premier provider of the world's largest repo of reliable information for more than 50 years. NewsBank’s library of historical news data is absolutely amazing. While I was there, I also served as the Lead UX/UI designer for their historical news division; Readex. This was a separate product team I worked with weekly where my role included:
Successfully launched 8 new consumer facing products within their “Life in America” product line.
Successfully launched 4 historic news Readex products.
Collaborated with marketing, product owners, and project managers on Hero image resizing for new product launches
Worked one on one with the Senior Lead Readex developer to deliver “Live” market ready CSS variables for new product launches.
Partnered with product & project managers, developers, QA, marketing, and stakeholders across the entire product lifecycle
Managed four concurrent projects while identifying risks and communicating complex design solutions.
